उदीयमान सितारे प्रथमेश फुगे तीरंदाजी विश्व कप कंपाउंड सेमीफाइनल में तनावपूर्ण शूटआफ में मौजूदा चैम्पियन मथियास फुलेर्टन से हारकर पदक से चूक गए। रोमांचक मुकाबले में दोनों तीरंदाजों ने पांचों दौर में परफेक्ट 10 स्कोर किया और एक अंक भी नहीं गंवाया।
स्कोर 150.150 रहने के बाद शूटआफ से विजेता का फैसला हुआ। शूटआफ में भी स्कोर 10.10 से बराबर रहा। इसके बाद डेनमार्क के तीरंदाज ने मामूली अंतर से फुगे को हराया। फुगे अगर जीत जाते तो पदक पक्का हो जाता। कांस्य पदक के प्लेआफ मुकाबले में वह विश्व चैम्पियन माइक शोलेसेर से 150.146 से हार गए।
वहीं पूर्व विश्व कप पदक विजेता ज्योति सुरेखा वेन्नम महिला कंपाउंड वर्ग में क्वार्टर फाइनल में एस्तोनिया की मीरी मारिता पास से 145.147 से हार गई। रिकर्व वर्ग में दीपिका कुमारी और धीरज बोम्मादेवरा उतरेंगे।
