मई महीने में निकाय चुनाव 2025 होने की संभावना जताई जा रही है। आज यानी 7 जनवरी को निकाय चुनाव के लिए आरक्षण की पहली प्रक्रिया पूरी हुई। लेकिन आगामी महीने में बोर्ड परीक्षा के पहले रिवीजन क्लासेस और सारी प्रक्रिया को देखते हुए टीचरों का उपलब्ध होना और स्कूल खोले रखना कठिनाई भरा होगा। वैसे भी सभी नगर पालिका निगम में सुचारु रूप से कार्य संचालन हेतु नगर में प्रशासक बिठाए गए है। जिससे निगम के सभी कामकाज प्रभावित ना हो। इसी सब कारणों से चुनाव मई महीने में संपन्न कराए जा सकते है।
निगम चुनाव रायपुर में बीजेपी से महापौर प्रत्याशी के लिए मीनल चौबे प्रबल दावेदार मानी जा रही है। दरअसल प्रदेश के 14 नगर निगम में 5 महापौर सीट महिला के लिए आरक्षित रहेगी। रायपुर में सामान्य वर्ग की महिला मेयर का चुनाव लड़ेगी। रायपुर के साइंस कॉलेज परिसर स्थित पंडित दीनदयाल उपाध्याय ऑडिटोरियम में चल रही है।
